Rubber piping protects the blades from scratches and the solid aluminium base ensures a firm stand (total weight of knife holder: 9.5 kg measures: D: 11cm W: 27cm H: 32cm). The aluminium base is copper-plated twice on the surface, hand-polished after each procedure and then chrome-plated. This results in a high-gloss surface that is significantly more durable and hard-wearing than conventional chrome plating.
